APFC Panel Manufacturer in Saudi Arabia
Saudi Power Factor Company is an APFC panel manufacturer in Saudi Arabia, building automatic power factor correction panels for industrial plants, commercial buildings and EPC projects. Each panel switches capacitor steps in and out to hold your target power factor and remove reactive-power charges from the bill. Rating, step layout and lead time follow your specification: 25–1,200 kVAr per panel, typically ready in 2–3 weeks.
What you receive: a written proposal with the panel rating, step layout, standard, lead time and price within one working day of receiving your electricity bill or load list. Request a quotation

What is an APFC panel and how does it work?
An APFC panel is an automatic power factor correction panel: a metal-enclosed assembly that adds capacitors to your supply when the load needs reactive power and switches them off when it does not. A power factor controller reads the current through a CT on the incoming supply and compares the measured power factor with the target you set. It then switches capacitor steps through capacitor-duty contactors. As motors, chillers and compressors start and stop, the panel follows the load and keeps the power factor close to target.
A typical panel contains:
- an incoming isolator or MCCB and a busbar system;
- a power factor controller with a CT input;
- capacitor-duty contactors, one per step;
- LV power capacitors, with detuned reactors where harmonics are present;
- HRC fuses or MCCBs protecting each step; and
- fans and thermostats that control the temperature inside the enclosure.

| Enclosure | Floor-standing, indoor or outdoor duty (IP31–IP54 indoor) | IEC 61439-1/-2; IP code to IEC 60529 | 2–3 weeks |
| Switching and protection | Capacitor-duty contactors and HRC fuses or MCCBs, one set per step | IEC 60947-4-1 | 2–3 weeks |
| Controller | Multi-step power factor controller with CT input | Manufacturer type-tested | 2–3 weeks |
| Factory acceptance test | Wiring, insulation, protection and step-switching checks; test record issued | IEC 61439-1/-2 | Included in build time |
We build with ABB, Schneider Electric and Siemens components, chosen to suit your specification and the approval requirements of your site. Our Italian technology partner, Elcontrol Energy Net, supplies the power factor controllers and power quality analysers we use on many projects.
Are an APFC panel and a capacitor bank the same?
Not exactly. The capacitor bank is the group of capacitors that supplies the reactive power, and the APFC panel is the complete automatic assembly around it, with the controller, contactors and protection. A fixed bank stays connected all the time and suits a single motor or a steady load. An APFC panel suits a plant whose load changes through the day. If you only need a fixed unit, see our capacitor bank range. Where drives or UPS units produce harmonics, specify the detuned version so the capacitors are not overloaded.
How do I select an APFC panel rating?
Select the rating from three inputs: your demand in kW, your present power factor and the power factor you want to reach. The kVAr you need is the kW demand times the gap between the tangents of your present and target power-factor angles. That total is then divided into steps. Small steps follow a changing load closely, and larger steps cost less.
Your electricity bill or a load list gives us the demand. If the load varies sharply, a power quality survey records it over a week, and the full method is explained in PFC panel design and sizing. Utility tariff rules are set by SEC; we size the correction to the target your bill shows. Under the Saudi Electricity Company tariff: 0.90 is the minimum above 1 MVA contract load; we design to 0.95.
How is an APFC panel built, tested and delivered?
- Enquiry. You send your billing history or a motor load list.
- Site data. We confirm the supply voltage, transformer rating, CT location and the floor space available.
- Design. We fix the kVAr, step layout, reactor choice and enclosure, then issue the single-line diagram and general arrangement drawing for your approval.
- Build. The panel is assembled in our Dammam workshops from the approved drawings.
- Factory acceptance test. We check wiring, insulation, protection settings and step switching, and a test record travels with the panel.
- Delivery. The panel is packed, transported and positioned at your site, with installation guidance for your electrical contractor.
- Commissioning. We set the target power factor, CT ratio and step sequence, then confirm that the panel switches correctly under load.
- Documentation and support. You receive as-built drawings, the test record and the manual, and we remain available for spare parts and maintenance.
Who we build APFC panels for
Saudi Power Factor Company has worked in Saudi Arabia since 2010 and is approved by Saudi Aramco, SABIC and the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu. We have worked on projects for all three, and our quality, environmental and safety management systems are certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
We have worked on projects for Saudi Aramco, SABIC and the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, in all regions of Saudi Arabia. Tell us your plant type and city in the quotation form, and we describe the scope closest to your APFC panel job.
Panels go to cement and steel plants, petrochemical and plastics factories, water pumping stations, hospitals, shopping centres and cold stores, wherever motors, chillers and compressors pull reactive power. Read how we approach power factor correction services across all sectors. We deliver to every region of Saudi Arabia. Jubail is about 1 hour from Dammam and Riyadh about 4 hours by road; Jeddah and Yanbu are reached by air or road.
APFC panel questions
Who provides APFC panel manufacturing in Saudi Arabia?
Saudi Power Factor Company provides APFC panels from its Dammam workshops, designed to your load and built with ABB, Schneider Electric and Siemens components. We have been active since 2010 and are approved by Saudi Aramco, SABIC and the Royal Commission.
What affects the cost of an APFC panel?
The main factors are total kVAr, number of steps, whether detuned reactors are needed, the enclosure type and IP rating, the make of the controller and contactors, and the test and documentation requirements. Send your bill or load list and the proposal prices these against your specification.
How long does APFC panel delivery take?
Lead time depends on the kVAr, the step count, whether reactors are included and the approval path for drawings. Our typical lead time is 2–3 weeks. Quick drawing approval from your side shortens the schedule more than any other factor.
Why are detuned reactors required for APFC panels?
Drives, UPS units and similar loads create harmonic currents, and plain capacitors can resonate with the supply at those frequencies. A detuned reactor placed in series with each capacitor step shifts the resonance away from the harmonics and protects the capacitors from overload.
Can you support our consultant's specification?
Yes. We review your consultant's single-line diagram, load schedule and technical specification, return a compliance statement with any proposed alternatives, and submit drawings for approval before we start the build.
What should I send to get a quotation?
For an APFC panel we need the kW demand and present power factor, which a month of billing or a motor load list provides. Add the transformer rating and a single-line diagram if you have them. The proposal then sets out scope, standard, lead time and price.
