Omron Energy Monitoring Panel in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Power Factor Company provides the Omron energy monitoring panel in Saudi Arabia as a metering cabinet or door-mounted add-on for APFC banks, built around Omron KM series power monitors. We are an authorised Omron partner. Omron does not make capacitors or power factor controllers, so the monitors sit beside our correction equipment and record what it achieves.

What you receive: a written proposal naming the monitor models, the measurement points, the panel scope, the lead time and the price within one working day of your single-line diagram or meter list. Request a quotation

Omron energy monitoring panel with a KM series power monitor beside an APFC bank in Saudi Arabia

What is an energy monitor and why add one to a PFC bank?

An energy monitor measures voltage, current, power, energy and power factor, and stores or transmits the values. A power factor controller shows only the present value. A monitor adds the daily and monthly record, so you can compare it with your electricity bill and see which feeder is dragging the result down. If a capacitor step fails, the monitor shows the change in reactive power before the next bill arrives.

What does an Omron energy monitoring panel contain?

Item Range / specification Standard Typical lead time
KM series smart power monitor Voltage, current, power, energy and power factor per feeder IEC 61557-12 reference Agreed in the quotation
Metering panel with several monitors Feeders per project, with CT terminals and fusing IEC 61439-1/-2 Agreed in the quotation
APFC panel carrying a monitor 25–1,200 kVAr per panel, 380–415 V, 60 Hz IEC 61439-1/-2 2–3 weeks
Retrofit monitor on an existing bank Per incomer Manufacturer type-tested Agreed in the quotation

Can an Omron KM power monitor track power factor in an APFC panel?

Yes. The monitor reads current from CTs and voltage from the busbar, and displays the power factor, the reactive power and the energy. It does not switch capacitors. We fit it on the incomer, as in a power quality survey point, which shows the net result of load and bank together, and optionally on the capacitor feeder, which shows how much the bank is giving. The two readings together explain whether a poor figure comes from the load or from a faulty step.

What are the benefits of power factor correction?

Correction lowers reactive current, so cables and transformers run cooler and carry more useful load. It removes the reactive energy charge under the Saudi Electricity Company tariff for customers above 1 MVA contract load. A monitor gives the evidence of this on a monthly chart, which is useful for energy management and for audits.

How does a monitoring panel project run?

  1. Enquiry. You send the single-line diagram or a list of feeders.
  2. Selection. We choose the measurement points and the number of monitors.
  3. Design. We draw the CT locations, fuses and terminal layout.
  4. Build. The Dammam workshops assemble the metering panel.
  5. Test. We check each channel against a reference instrument.
  6. Handover. You receive the settings and the communication details.
  7. Support. We help read the logs and refer them to maintenance checks.

Omron partner questions

Who provides an Omron energy monitoring panel in Saudi Arabia?

Saudi Power Factor Company provides Omron energy monitoring panels in Saudi Arabia, either stand-alone or combined with an APFC bank. We are an authorised Omron partner. Each panel is built in Dammam and tested before dispatch.

What affects the cost of an energy monitoring panel?

Cost depends on the number of feeders, the monitor model, the communication option, the CTs and the enclosure. Panels with only an incomer monitor cost far less than panels covering every feeder. Send your feeder list for a priced proposal.

How long does a monitoring panel take?

Lead time depends on the number of monitors and the stock position of CTs and the enclosure. The quotation sets the date. A monitor fitted in a new APFC panel follows the 2–3 weeks panel schedule.

Which energy monitor suits a PFC installation?

The right one depends on the number of feeders, the data you need and the communication port. For a single incomer a compact monitor is enough. For many feeders, several monitors on a network suit better.

Do you offer an Omron power meter for single feeders?

Yes, where the feeder justifies it. We fit a power meter on large motors, compressors or chiller feeders, so you can see how each one affects the plant power factor.

Can the monitor send data to our SCADA?

Yes, when the model has a communication port. We list the protocol and registers in the handover pack, wire the connection to the terminal you name, and test the data link before the panel leaves the workshop.
