Power Factor Controller in Saudi Arabia
Saudi Power Factor Company supplies the power factor controller for new APFC panels and for replacement in existing capacitor banks across Saudi Arabia. The controller reads your power factor through a CT and switches capacitor steps to hold your target. Send the panel make, step count and CT ratio and we confirm the matching unit.
What you receive: a written proposal naming the controller, step count, CT requirement and price within one working day of receiving your panel details or electricity bill. Request a quotation

What does an APFC relay do?
An APFC relay, also called a power factor controller or PF regulator, is the decision-maker in an automatic panel. It takes current from a CT on the incoming feeder and the phase voltage, calculates the power factor and compares it with your target. When the reading falls short it closes the next capacitor-duty contactor. When the load drops it opens steps again after a short delay.
Most units also raise alarms for over-compensation and show power factor, current and harmonic distortion. A wrong CT ratio or C/k value is the usual reason a sound panel hunts or never switches.

Our Italian technology partner, Elcontrol Energy Net of Bologna, makes the PFR96 and STPF controllers and the NanoVIP power analysers we use on projects.
How do I choose a controller for my panel?
Match five points before you order:
- Steps: the controller needs at least as many outputs as the panel has contactors.
- CT input: confirm the secondary current, usually 5 A or 1 A, and place the CT on the incoming feeder, upstream of all loads and capacitors.
- Duty: sites with generation or export need a unit that works in all four quadrants.
- Readings: a display of harmonic distortion helps beside detuned steps, and RS-485 output suits a monitoring system.
How is a controller fitted and commissioned?
- Send panel details. Nameplate photos, step sizes and the CT ratio are enough.
- We confirm the match. We check outputs, voltage, cut-out size and terminals.
- Supply. The unit and any CT arrive with a settings sheet.
- Fitting. The unit is wired to the CT, voltage reference and contactor coils.
- Settings. We enter the target, C/k, delay and step sequence.
- Test under load. Each step is switched and checked against a meter.
- Record. You receive the final settings for your maintenance file.
Who we supply
Saudi Power Factor Company has worked in Saudi Arabia since 2010 and is approved by Saudi Aramco, SABIC and the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu. We deliver to every region of Saudi Arabia.
We have worked on projects for Saudi Aramco, SABIC and the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, in all regions of Saudi Arabia. Tell us your plant type and city in the quotation form, and we describe the scope closest to your controller replacement or panel retrofit job.
If the whole panel is ageing, our retrofit and replacement service covers capacitors and contactors too.
Questions we are asked before quoting
Who provides power factor controllers in Saudi Arabia?
Saudi Power Factor Company provides these units from Dammam for new panels and retrofits, including the Elcontrol PFR96 and STPF models from our Italian partner. We have been active since 2010 and are approved by Saudi Aramco, SABIC and the Royal Commission.
What affects the cost of a controller?
Cost depends on the number of steps, the make and model, display and communication options, CT supply and quantity. Send the step count and the panel make and we price against that.
How long does controller delivery take?
Delivery depends on the model and whether it is in stock. Our typical lead time is the next working day from Dammam stock. Confirm step count, CT ratio and supply voltage at enquiry.
Why does my controller not switch any steps?
The usual causes are a CT on the wrong phase or downstream of the capacitors, a reversed CT, a C/k value set too high, a long delay or a missing voltage reference.
Can you replace the controller in my existing panel?
Yes, we match the step count, cut-out size and wiring, supply the controller, fit it, enter the settings, test every step under load and give you the settings record for the maintenance file.
What should I send to get a quotation?
Send a photo of the existing controller or panel nameplate, the number of steps and the kVAr of each, the CT ratio and the supply voltage. We reply within one working day.
