Capacitor Bank Supplier in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Power Factor Company is a capacitor bank supplier in Saudi Arabia, delivering fixed and automatic LV banks to plants, buildings and EPC contractors. Every bank is sized from your electricity bill or load list, assembled in Dammam and tested before dispatch. Rating, voltage class and lead time follow your specification: fixed banks 5–300 kVAr in 1–2 weeks, automatic banks 25–1,200 kVAr in 2–3 weeks.

What you receive: a written proposal with the kVAr, bank type, standard, lead time and price within one working day of receiving your electricity bill or load list. Request a quotation

What is the use of a capacitor bank?

Motors, transformers, chillers and compressors draw reactive power to build their magnetic fields. That power does no work, but it loads your cables and transformer and appears on the bill as a low power factor. A capacitor bank supplies the reactive power locally, so the utility network no longer has to carry it.

The result is a higher power factor, lower current in the incoming supply, less heat in cables and transformers, and freed capacity for new load. On a plant with a poor power factor the bank often pays for itself through the removal of reactive-power charges.

Capacitor bank supplier in Saudi Arabia: what we deliver

We supply complete banks, not loose parts, each sized to your load and tested before it leaves Dammam.

Item Range / specification Standard Typical lead time
Fixed capacitor bank Single or multi-stage, for a motor or steady base load IEC 61439-1/-2 1–2 weeks
Automatic capacitor bank panel Controller-switched steps that follow the load IEC 61439-1/-2 2–3 weeks
Detuned capacitor bank Series reactors added where drives or UPS units create harmonics IEC 61921; IEC 61439-1/-2 3–4 weeks
LV power capacitors Rated for your supply voltage; 440 V and 525 V classes available IEC 60831 / IEC 61921 2–3 weeks
Protection and switching HRC fuses or MCCBs and capacitor-duty contactors, one set per step IEC 60947-4-1 2–3 weeks
Factory acceptance test Wiring, insulation, protection and discharge checks; record issued IEC 61439-1/-2 Included in build time

We build with ABB, Schneider Electric and Siemens components, selected to match your specification and your site's approved-vendor lists. Individual capacitors, contactors and reactors are also available; see LV power capacitors.

What are the two types of capacitor banks?

The two main types are fixed and automatic. A fixed bank stays connected whenever the supply is on. It suits a single large motor, a transformer no-load correction or a plant with a steady base load, and it is the lowest-cost option.

An automatic bank splits the capacitors into steps. A controller reads the power factor and switches steps in and out as the load changes. Choose it where load varies through the shift, because a fixed bank sized for peak load will over-correct at night. Where drives are present, either type can be built in a detuned version. For the complete panel with controller, see our APFC panels and the detuned capacitor banks page.

How much capacitor is required for power factor improvement?

The answer comes from three figures: your maximum demand in kW, your present power factor and the target you want. Multiply the demand by the difference between the two power-factor angle tangents and you have the kVAr to install. A bill showing maximum demand and a monthly power factor is enough for a first estimate.

Over-sizing is as costly as under-sizing, because over-correction can raise the voltage and stress equipment. Our engineers check your figures against the load pattern before they fix the rating; the full method is in PFC panel design and sizing.

How do we supply and commission your capacitor bank?

  1. Enquiry. You send one month of your electricity bill or a load list.
  2. Sizing. We calculate the kVAr, choose fixed or automatic steps, and decide whether reactors are needed.
  3. Drawings. You receive the single-line diagram and general arrangement for approval.
  4. Build. The bank is assembled in our Dammam workshops from the approved drawings.
  5. Factory test. We check wiring, insulation, discharge resistors and protection, and issue a test record.
  6. Delivery. The bank is packed and transported to your site, with connection guidance for your contractor.
  7. Commissioning. We set the target, confirm step switching under load and record the improved power factor.
  8. Documentation and support. You receive as-built drawings, the test record and the manual, with spares and maintenance available afterwards.

Who we supply capacitor banks to

Saudi Power Factor Company, active in the Kingdom since 2010, is an approved supplier to Saudi Aramco, SABIC and the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu. We have delivered projects for all three, and our systems hold ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification. Our Dammam workshops, including Al Badrani, build and test the banks before dispatch.

We have worked on projects for Saudi Aramco, SABIC and the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, in all regions of Saudi Arabia. Tell us your plant type and city in the quotation form, and we describe the scope closest to your capacitor bank projects written as content: plant type, location, kVAr installed job.

Banks serve factories in the Dammam industrial cities and Jubail Industrial City, warehouses, hospitals, malls and water facilities. We deliver to every region of Saudi Arabia. Jubail is about 1 hour from Dammam and Riyadh about 4 hours by road; Jeddah and Yanbu are reached by air or road. For the wider scope, read about our power factor correction services.

Capacitor bank questions

Who is a reliable capacitor bank supplier in Saudi Arabia?

Saudi Power Factor Company provides capacitor banks from its Dammam workshops, sized to your load and built with ABB, Schneider Electric and Siemens components. We are approved by Saudi Aramco, SABIC and the Royal Commission and have operated since 2010.

What affects the cost of a capacitor bank?

Price follows total kVAr, the number of steps, whether reactors are included, the voltage class of the capacitors, the enclosure and IP rating, and the make of the switching gear. Testing and documentation requirements also count. Send your bill and the proposal prices each of these against your specification.

How long does capacitor bank delivery take?

Delivery depends on the kVAr, the step count, reactor content and how quickly drawings are approved. Our typical lead time is 1–2 weeks for a fixed bank and 2–3 weeks for an automatic bank. Where the schedule is tight, tell us on enquiry so we can plan workshop slots and component supply early.

Can a capacitor bank be added to an existing panel or transformer room?

Yes. We survey the space, the incomer rating and the busbar arrangement, then supply a bank sized to fit the available room and connect to the existing board, with a layout drawing for your approval before work starts.

Is a capacitor bank the same as an APFC panel?

They overlap. The capacitors form the bank; an APFC panel adds the controller, contactors and protection that switch the steps automatically. A fixed bank has none of the automatic switching, which makes it simpler and cheaper for steady loads.
