Power Quality Survey in Saudi Arabia
Saudi Power Factor Company carries out the power quality survey in Saudi Arabia for industrial plants, hospitals and commercial buildings. A Class A analyser logs power factor, harmonics, voltage events and unbalance at your incomer for at least seven days, and our engineers return a written report with the findings and the corrective equipment sized to fix them.
What you receive: a written proposal with the survey scope, number of measurement points, report contents, turnaround and price within one working day of receiving your single-line diagram and a recent electricity bill. Request a quotation

How is power quality measured?
A portable analyser is connected to the supply, with voltage leads on the phases and current clamps around the cables. It records continuously and stores values for each measurement interval. Reading the logs reveals what a single spot reading never shows: the daily load cycle, brief sags and swells, and harmonics that appear only when a particular line starts.
For a representative picture we log at least one full week, so that weekday and weekend production both appear. The method follows the Class A measurement definitions in IEC 61000-4-30, and harmonics are processed to IEC 61000-4-7. The analysers we use come from our Italian technology partner, Elcontrol Energy Net, whose NanoVIP KUBA is a Class A power quality analyser.

| Written report | Findings, limits compared, recommendations, equipment sizing | Issued as PDF | agreed in the quotation |
What does the survey report contain?
Your report is written for decision makers as well as engineers. It opens with a one-page summary of what is wrong, what it costs and what to do. The detail pages then show:
- the load profile with peak, average and minimum demand;
- the power factor over time and the reactive power that your bill is charging for;
- harmonic spectra at the incomer, compared with IEEE 519 or the limit your client specifies;
- the list of voltage events with date, depth and duration;
- resonance risk for any existing capacitor bank; and
- recommended equipment with sizing, such as a detuned capacitor bank or a harmonic filter panel.
Where a power factor charge appears on your bill, the survey links it to the load behind it. See power factor penalty removal for how we then correct it.
When should I order a survey?
Order a survey when you see any of these signs:
- Capacitor banks fail early, bulge or blow fuses.
- Drives, PLCs or meters reset or trip without a clear cause.
- Transformers or neutral conductors run hot at modest load.
- The bill shows reactive-energy charges and you are unsure of the load pattern.
- A consultant or client asks for evidence of IEEE 519 compliance before handover.
- You plan to add drives, a UPS or a new line and want to know the supply headroom.
A survey before purchase also prevents over-sizing. Measured demand often differs from nameplate totals, and the kVAr we specify in PFC panel design and sizing reflects the load actually recorded.
How is a survey carried out on site?
- Scoping. You send the single-line diagram, a recent bill and the symptoms you see.
- Planning. We agree the measurement points, the safe connection method and the access date with your electrical team.
- Installation. Our engineer connects the analyser, checks phasing and CT direction, and leaves it recording. Connection follows your site permit-to-work rules.
- Logging. The analyser records for at least seven days across normal production.
- Retrieval. We collect the data and review it for gaps or wiring errors.
- Analysis and report. Findings, limit checks and recommendations are written up and presented to your team.
- Follow-up. If you proceed, we design and supply the equipment, then repeat a short measurement to confirm the result.
Who we survey for
Saudi Power Factor Company has worked in Saudi Arabia since 2010 and is approved by Saudi Aramco, SABIC and the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu. We have worked on projects for all three, and our quality, environmental and safety systems hold ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification.
We have worked on projects for Saudi Aramco, SABIC and the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, in all regions of Saudi Arabia. Tell us your plant type and city in the quotation form, and we describe the scope closest to your survey projects written as content: plant type, location, main finding job.
Surveys suit manufacturing plants, hospitals, data rooms, malls, cold stores and water facilities. We work in all regions of Saudi Arabia. Jubail is about 1 hour from Dammam and Riyadh about 4 hours by road; Jeddah and Yanbu are reached by air or road. Our analyser supplier is described on the Elcontrol partner page.
Power quality questions
Who provides a power quality survey in Saudi Arabia?
Saudi Power Factor Company provides power quality surveys across Saudi Arabia, using Class A analysers from Elcontrol Energy Net. We are approved by Saudi Aramco, SABIC and the Royal Commission and have operated since 2010. The survey ends with a report and equipment sizing.
What affects the cost of a survey?
The main factors are the number of measurement points, the logging duration, travel to site, whether harmonic and event analysis is included, and the depth of the report. A single-incomer survey costs less than a multi-feeder study.
How long does a survey take?
Logging takes at least seven days. Add the time to arrange access and permits, then analysis and report writing after retrieval. Survey teams mobilise within one working day in the Eastern Province; the quotation states the report date for your number of points. A site that can approve access quickly reduces the total schedule.
Does the survey interrupt production?
A shutdown is not normally needed. Current clamps go around live cables and voltage leads attach at a protected test point. Where a feeder cannot be safely accessed, we plan the connection for a scheduled outage with your maintenance team.
What do I get at the end of the survey?
You receive a written report with the load profile, power factor, harmonic spectra, event log, limit comparison and sized recommendations. We present it to your team, and the raw data is available for your consultant on request.
