How does the Elcontrol PFR96 regulator work?
The PFR96 takes current from a CT on the incomer and voltage from the supply, calculates the power factor and compares it with your target. When the value drifts it closes or opens capacitor contactors in turn. The step count is set by the model and the panel layout, and we confirm it in the drawing set. How do NanoVIP analysers support a survey?
For a power quality survey we connect a NanoVIP unit to the incomer and the main feeders for a typical week of operation. The KUBA model records voltage, current, power factor, harmonic distortion and events to Class A. We read the file in Energy Studio, and the data decides the kVAr, the step layout and any detuning reactors. Each analyser has a different channel count, so the model follows the number of points to be measured. The same instrument also diagnoses a failing bank before a repair.
